Saigon 48 has increased in popularity for more reasons than just its strategic location—on 48th Street in the Theater District—no doubt its great food and service, both in the restaurant and for delivery, have played a large part. Saigon 48 offers a casserole that they believe is close to royalty, with prawns, scallops, crab, fish and calamari. With this special dish and others, they pretty much have the kingdom of the sea covered.

I'm taking back the first review of 4 starts. The last two times I order, the delivery guy got the soup all spilled in the bag. The pho noodle had broken plastic container pieces in it. I don't want to die. Noooooooooo tks. --------------------------------------------------------------------- the food is delicious and delivery time is just as they said. Overall experience is great. -------------------------------------------------- I ordered the PAD THAI this time, it came with thin rice noodle. Yes MeiFun. I called them and asked what's sup with that. The lady at front desk told me, I HAVE TO TELL THEM if I want to regular PADTHAI NOODLE?!?!??!??!?! Are you shitting me? It's ok if it's a mistake, but DAMN you gonna bullshit your customer like that? WOW .. front desk's lack of knowledge and honesty is mind bottling. But the chef''s food is super!!

I had the grilled snapper. It was quite tasteless. I should probably not expect great seafood from this type of restaurant, but this snapper really did taste like it had been frozen for a very long time and then thawed. On top of being tasteless, it was quite greasy so not even healthy. I'm not sure why grill fish would be that greasy. Makes me want to just cook at home.

We ordered delivery but it took 1 hour and 30 minutes. The person at the restaurant said that they couldn't reach delivery man and didn't know where was delivery man when we called over 1 hour from placing the order.

We ordered the Yellow Curry Chicken Soup and Oxtail Soup - both of which were unimpressively bland to the point of inedible. The steamed pork dumplings were o.k.

Fast delivery, but yucky food. I ordered a large pho, which was a fairly good portion size. However, there were no soybeans, no cilantro, and no other fixings except some basil leafs, sriracha sauce, and hoisin sauce. The noodles were plain white pad thai-style noodles but there were all clumped together. Yuck! ---- I also ordered the fried spring rolls - 2 tiny rolls for 3.95! And they weren't very good, odd filling with a bland dipping sauce. I'll bever order again!

It doesn't even begin to compare with pho from the DMV but it will do in a pinch. The noodles are hard to unclump, aren't chewy enough, and fall apart too easily. The broth is a little watery without and underseasoned. Still, I think it's better than the pho at Cha Pa and I'll probably order it again because hey, mediocre pho is still way better than no pho. Keep your own sriracha on hand because the container of chile sauce they give you (which isn't sriracha) is really small.

yum - fast - cheap - yum

The grilled meat trio with rice and crepes were very tasty. The Pho is okay - I was surprised since it has gotten good reviews, but it's not that good.

I had to lower this rating after I ordered a second round of meal from this place. The fried rice is good. However, the duck (which I paid 15 dollars for) was so bad that I am forced to push this from a 4 to a 2. The duck should be rated as a ZERO. It was old, tough, and just nasty! Awful awful awful....Wish I could have returned it.

I usual order for pickup. It's superfast. I loved their grill meats

Food was generally good, the pho bo stuck together when trying to pour the soup over it, but the beef was quite good once in the soup. Noodles were basically a bit too overdone.

fast delivery and consistent service, but the food is so-so

Fresh food, quick service, excellent chili sauce. The pork and basil had heaps of basil and the Old Fashioned chicken (ginger and honey) is a new favorite.

Delivey guy insisted on large tip even before I had finished digging money out of my wallet. So not cool. I won't order from them again. Food was okay; not great or good.

I have ordered from Saigon 48 on several occocasion, typically trying different dishes on each occasion. I have been constantly impressed with the food and service. I typically order for pickup since the restaurant is across the street from my apartment. The marinated teriyaki steak is special.

We ordered the pad thai, house rice (shrimp and sausage) pork chops, spring rolls and summer rolls. We threw most of it out. Nothing had any flavor except the pork chops. Unfortunately, the first one tasted great, but the ones underneath had a gamey flavor that made us wonder if they were old. Very disappointed in the whole meal!!!!

Awesome, inexpensive, authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Truly a hidden gem. Can't wait to try more from this place. Summer rolls were the cat's pajamas.

We order from here almost once a week. Delicious food, decent prices and very fast delivery.

Not bad for Vietnamese delivery in midtown. The fish sauce was too weak for my taste (but I'm also Vietnamese and prefer a more authentic flavor), but the spring rolls were crispy and come with lettuce as they should. Also, they have Vietnamese meatballs (bo vien) which are not easy to come by.

Cheap! Good noodle soups

The food is excellent. It fits my diet needs so well! I often fast and don't eat meat and Saigon 48 does not let me starve. Their tofu dishes taste excellent and their make-it-yourself dishes give you lots of flexibility.

Awesome food. Interesting recipes and they really pay attention to detail. Love these guys.

Great food, the noodle soups are amazing!

Had the Chicken and Rice Vermicelli - Very tasty, reasonably priced, good portions. Spicy pepper sauce is served on the side. Great compliment for the noodles.

One of the worst delivery meals I've ever had. Did not finish any of the three dishes I ordered despite being extremely hungry. Actually had to spit out one of the appetizers.

Really good grilled pork chops. The tofu with mushroom dish was really spicy but really yummy.

Never thought Vietnamese food could be served this bad. FYI, I have had Vietnamese food in both West Coast, East Coast and in Asia. I would not recommend this place for these reasons: 1) What they offer is Chinese style Vietnamese food, not authentic Vietnamese food; 2) Not only was the pho cold when I received it, it tasted horrible (like fish tank); 3) Pork chop tasted like rubber.

We ordered Sate Chicken, Spicy Tasty Chicken, Pork Dumplings, and Ox Tail Soup. The two chicken dishes were just perfect. Five Stars. I thought the dumplings were just as good, but my sister and girl friend both said they smelled rotten. I didn't understand that. They tasted fine. The soup.... well.... I suppose Ox tail is an aquiered taste.

A good, easy selection vegetarian meals.

Amazing soup! When I am craving something light but filling this is my place. I like that everything comes fresh and separated (broth and steamed veggies in separate containers) and the delivery guy is always very nice.

Pad Thai was greasy, & shrimp too mushy. Beef basil had weird taste.
Posted 2 years ago by Haley S.
Steamed pork dumplings were fatty, both the filling and shell were too dense, the taste and texture were awful. Steamed noodles with chicken was good but needed a bit more nuoc mam sauce on the side.

Not authentic and bland. Downtown is best for the real deal. The bok choy came with no leafy tops...bizarre. Don't waste your money here.

Two friends and I ordered three entrees and an order of summer rolls. Everything was bland. One entree had little to no sauce/seasoning. The other two had a tasteless sauce. The summer rolls and even the peanut dip that came with them were flavourless. None of us enjoyed our meals, though nothing was awful. I am perplexed by the high rating for this restaurant.

Chicken was soft as sponge and had about as much taste...very poor.

Not the best Vietnamese in the world and probably not too authentic, but fantastic for delivery. Very fast, decent food.

The food is great, but they cannot follow directions. I order noodle soup from here three times and each time I specify in the instructions to separate noodles from the soup (soggy noodles = bad noodles). Not ONCE can they follow this instruction!

This vendor has messed up or completely forgotten my order on more than once occasion. Even more disappointing is the extremely poor resolutions that have been given once their error has been bought to their attention. Good food, but it may not be worth the wait.

I was sorely disappointed. The Pho broth lacked flavor, the noodles were sticky and overcooked, and the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings did not like shrimp at all. They lacked texture and taste. I regularly frequent Vietnamese and Pan Asian restaurants. This one rates at the bottom

spring rolls and summer rolls are OK, but other dish is just soso. Pho is disappointing rather.
Posted 4 years ago by Yunyan W.
Summer rolls are okay, the peanut sauce was pathetic, can barely taste the peanut flavor. The "pad thai", I use quotes because it was pat thai in name only, was cooked like chinese corner takout noodles, stir fried. It had so much soy sauce and garlic that I could have ordered chow mai fun with chopped peanutes springled on top and it would have been the same.

Very tasty noodles, very good portions, fair price.
Posted 4 years ago by Mohamed E.
Quick but surly delivery. Food was good but could have been great if only more sauce had been added. Had the bok choy which was HUGE and the vermicelli noodles with pork - which was delicious only needed more sauce.
